Nursery

With the baby less than five weeks away, we're frantically pulling the nursery together.  All the furniture, with the exception of the bright pink armchair, which we've moved from our living room, is white as I'm a big fan of using accent colours to bring a room together. Knowing it's a girl we've got lots of girly pink items but we've also gone with some aqua and blues to tone it down a little and the result is fresh and feminine without being to in your face pink. Once we're done I'll share some photos.

1 Incy Interiors Georgia Cot | 2 Monique Lhuillier Rug from Pottery Barn Kids | 3 Marcelle Wide Dresser which will hopefully see her into her teen years | 4 Numero 74 Canopy from Leo & Bella | 5 Ollie Ella Lidded Basket | 6 Ilka Flamingo Mobile is made to order and just divine | 7 Various Cushions to add a pop of colour | 8 Pink Velvet Chair (old) | 9 Super Rural For Like Ever Print which I've had for years but it fits perfectly in her room | 10 IKEA MOSSLANDA Picture Ledge  saw these on Pinterest used as book shelves which is ideal as they don't take up any floor space

Lovely Living

We are looking for a new home and the very idea has me dreaming of new living room decor. This room just found itself in first place for inspiration – an inviting soft grey couch with lots of textured cushions and throws, not to mention a few little pieces that add something special – candles and a perfectly worn rug for warmth and comfort. The white wood panelled walls are perfection – I’m hoping this isn’t expensive or hard to do yourself. There are probably a few too many cushions for my liking and I’d swap the light for something a little smaller but overall I absolutely love this!

Adoring Aqua Accents

I have documented my love of white interiors a number of times but I also have a love for aqua accents - cushions, ottomans, doors, knick-knacks...

And don't you just love the chevron print cushions in the first image? I have a never-ending adoration for all things chevron too.

Aqua + Orange = Perfection

Lately I can't get enough of aqua and orange - interiors, floral arrangements, weddings, and it's also the perfect colour palette for a baby shower. I'm currently designing some invitations for a friend's baby shower - she doesn't know if she's having a boy or a girl - so we're thinking this is perfect! What other colour combinations work this well together?

Bar Carts

I know it's nothing new but I'm totally obsessed with bar carts! Yes, I love a cocktail, or two, but I also love the idea of making a well stocked bar a feature of a room - just like these colourful vintage looking carts above. I don't currently have the space for one, but as soon as I get a place big enough I'm pulling all of my booze out from the cupboard above the fridge and moving it onto one of these babies. With some fancy decanters, bottle stoppers, cocktail shakers and the lovely collection of eclectic glasses that I've collected along the years I'll be all stocked up and ready for entertaining.

The Madison Mixer (top image) from Society Social is at the top of my wish list, comes in custom colours and can be ordered online for Australian delivery at Ada & Darcy.

Just looking at these makes me thristy!!

Living With White

If I were forced to decorate in just one colour it would have to be white. It's timeless, classic, great for maximising light and can work in just about any home. As it is, the majority of my furnishings are white – walls, dining table and chairs, bathroom and I favour white for nearly all of my crockery and dinnerware. The perfect blank canvas, white always looks clean and bright and allows you to play around with colour and texture. These rooms successfully mix different shades of white to create warmth.

Found Them!

A few weeks back I posted an image of these gorgeous pink floral cushions. Well, thanks to Pinterest I found them! Whilst looking through images one night I came across the very same image and it turns out the cushions are sold only a few suburbs away from me at Fenton & Fenton. And although this particular fabric was a few years old, they kindly made these up for me in the identical fabric. Thrilled is an understatement!

Fenton & Fenton on High Street, Prahran is definitely worth a visit. If I wasn't saving I could have walked away with everything.

Vintage Storage

I love mixing old furnishings with new. Vintage meat safes, old painted cupboards and armories are both practical and charming and work perfectly with contemporary spaces. I’ve recently acquired two vintage meat safes that I’m going to strip down, paint white or a soft grey over white and sand back to give a more relaxed rustic look. Hopefully they work out so I can share some before and after images. I plan to use them in the bathroom or entrance hall for additional storage. I’ll keep you updated on how I go but in the meantime take a look at these beautiful storage solutions.

Dream Bedroom

We spend so much time in our bedroom that I tend to favour rooms that are comfortable yet luxurious, with soft lighting, plenty of pillows and the best quality sheets I can afford. I like neutral palettes with little pops of colour so when I look to revamp my bedroom in the coming months I'll be seeking inspiration from these beautiful rooms.
